I sail the slow USN BB's when I want to drive something while I'm eating a meal. Then use a play-style that maximizes her virtues while minimizing her vices and quirks.įor what it is worth, I find most USN Battleships to be too slow for a fast-paced situation.īut, the North Carolina is where the USN BB tech-tree line can (*finally!*) get out of its' own way well enough to play dynamically. Her 16" guns can damage every ship in her match-making bracket.Īt Tier-9, she's facing some formidable opponents, and her armor scheme isn't able to prevent her from being damaged or even sunk from a lucky hit or several hits over a period of time (which is true of many other ships, too).Ĭonsider what qualities a ship has. But she does bring speed to the situation, allowing her to sail towards the action or "advance in the other direction" quickly. Iowa isn't going to be considered a good turning ship, ever. But I have had much more success with the Japanese, British, and German lines at tier 8.Įvery ship brings "something" to the proverbial table. I am really depressed about this because the US BBs are the main line I wanted to play the game for. I do not want to waste the resources I can use elsewhere if it is basically a NC with more health. But I want to ask how the ship plays compared to the NC. I have the Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, Alabama, and soon the West Virginia. I am hoping they perform better at their respective tiers. I am just curious if I should even continue the line as the Iowa and Montana seem to be very similar to the NC. Anyway I just bought the NC awhile back after rage selling it, and I am only 2k xp away from the Iowa. And the guns seem to either be godly or completely useless. But as soon as cruisers and destroyers show up with their HE and decide you are their only target you can kiss your ship goodbye. I dont know why but for me it has been a pain. I never thought that it would be such a lackluster and painful grind as I enjoyed all the ships in the line until the NC. I am finally at the point to where I am about to research and purchase the Iowa.
